Gallery Reception: The Working Mother Experience LIVE cSPACE Marda Loop Join us at cSPACE Marda Loop on April 29 for The Working Mother Experience LIVE: Final Exhibition & Time Capsule Celebration—an evening of art, reflection, and connection marking the closing chapter of a powerful global project. After five years of bringing mothers together through creativity and shared experience, The Working Mother Experience culminates in The Legacy We Leave – A Global Time Capsule of Mothers & Art (2021–2026). This final exhibition transforms cSPACE into a gallery of stories, featuring original artwork created by mothers from around the world, across cultures, careers, and life stages. Throughout the evening, guests are invited to explore the exhibition, connect with artists and community members, and celebrate the impact of this collective creative journey. Light snacks and a glass of bubbles are included as part of the experience. The formal program, The Legacy We Leave as Mothers, begins at 6:45 PM and centres on the visible and invisible legacies shaped through motherhood. The program will feature reflections, artist stories, interactive moments, and the unveiling of the Time Capsule Book—a beautifully designed collection of artwork from the past five years. A featured Legacy Panel will bring together three remarkable women: Kinia Romanowska, entrepreneur and founder of Prose & Babes Together, they will share personal insights on resilience, identity, and the evolving experience of motherhood. Event Schedule: Guests will also have the opportunity to pre-order The Legacy We Leave — Time Capsule Book, a keepsake publication capturing this global artistic initiative. Tickets are available with early bird pricing at $40, with regular tickets at $65. Proceeds support the culmination of this legacy project and its final presentation. Come witness the premiere of a new work by Jace Eagle Bear, and selections from the film, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. To celebrate Asian Heritage Month this year, Gai Lan Ensemble presents a unique concert featuring a new composition by our own erhuist Jace Eagle Bear, and the music which inspired him, such as the soundtrack from “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”. “Qing” 青, is the Chinese word for the colour between blue and green. “Qing Yin” 青音, means blue/green sound, or Cyan Tones, evoking the colour and timbre of the concert itself. As a performance blending Chinese and western instruments, it’s something that also exists in-between. Joined by our friends Kensington Sinfonia, the concert will present works by living Canadian and Chinese composers including Jace Eagle Bear, Tse Taishun, and Li Bochan, as well as some beloved traditional tunes. |

Artist Reception | Reimagined: Future Stories from Past Treasure cSPACE Marda Loop The exhibition presents an inspiring invitation for artists to explore the theme of reimagining contemporary jewellery through the lens of history and personal narratives. Titled “Reimagine – Future Stories from Past Treasures,” it encourages reflection on how once-beloved pieces can be transformed to convey new stories, bridging the past, present, and future. Showcasing a diverse array of works that embody creativity, innovation, and expertise, the exhibition highlights artists engaging with their personal and familial legacies. Through themes such as memory, loss, uncertainty, optimism, connection, and caution, the featured pieces reflect the evolving landscape of ornamentation and underscore adornment as a vital form of expression. The exhibition also features donated works created for the Alberta Craft Gallery’s “Bling Bucket,” a project in which artists were invited to reclaim broken, once-cherished jewellery and transform it into new works of art. In addition, the exhibition includes striking creations produced by students from the Alberta University of the Arts’ jewellery program. Visitors are invited to engage with the reimagining of jewellery’s future, celebrating the transformative power of art to connect people with their histories, their environment, and one another.
