Creative Spaces Mentoring Network

{ Creative Spaces Mentoring Network }

cSPACE Projects joins Calgary Arts Development Association (CADA) and ArtsBuild Ontario (AB) in a Calgary based pilot of ArtsBuild’s highly successful mentorship program, the Creative Spaces Mentoring Network (CSMN).

This CSMN program, which has run for eight years in Ontario, matches arts and cultural leaders with experienced Mentors from their own or other sectors. Mentors and Mentees meet regularly over the course of a year for informal sessions, sharing knowledge and skills in service of a goal outlined by Mentees early in the process.

All participants take part in a Kick-Off Event, a Mid-Program Webinar and a Wrap Up Webinar.

The current cohort of Mentors and Mentees is an exciting mix of 38 dynamic arts leaders in Calgary and surrounding areas, at various stages of their careers and projects. The Kick-Off event in February, held at cSPACE Marda Loop, was an enormous success. The event included dynamic panel discussions and several opportunities for participants to get to know each other.

From the ArtsBuild Ontario website:

“Mentorship can provide an opportunity to connect with experts in the arts sector, while also developing your skills and knowledge. The Creative Spaces Mentoring Network (CSMN) is a program directly for artists, arts managers, and community members responsible for a creative space. The program focuses on providing a platform for arts leaders to grow their business and management skills to oversee, renew and develop creative spaces.”
