The Festival of Animated Objects, Canadian Academy of Mask and Puppetry, and Canmore Cave Tours presents a new, immersive opera experience, featuring original choral music by Cassandra J. Dueck.
Cave of Dreams is the invention of a group of artists bound by the night sky and a love affair between the moon and a limestone burrow. After working together on the Iniskim project, a vision emerged of an experience deep beneath the earth, with sound and light, voice and symbol. With guidance from choral master Jean-Louis Bleau, Cassandra J. Dueck has devised several original compositions to complete the score. Puppetry design and direction is being led by David Lane and Randi Edmundson; Kit Benz rounds out the puppetry performance team. The Ensemble choir is Jessica Sick, Maddie Aldridge, James Mills, and Chris Dueck, with choral direction by Cassandra J. Dueck. Bruce Barton has been our brave dramaturg; produced by Peter Balkwill and Jean-Louis Bleau.
