GildedMemory,Clouded Truth presents the work of Michelle Atkinson and Danielle Bartlette, two artists whose practices approach truth through layers of beauty, memory, and allure.
Atkinson transforms raw climate data into silkscreened forms that recall clouds, candy, and dreamscapes. These luminous surfaces veil the wildfires and environmental upheaval beneath, asking viewers to look closer at the stories we sugarcoat.
Bartlette’s mixed-media paintings reassemble memory through texture, collage, and embellishment. Her work navigates romance, urban landscapes, and personal history, turning fragments of lived experience into lush abstractions. Placed side by side, the works spark dialogue about what is hidden and what is revealed. Whether through the shimmer of glitter or the glint of gold leaf, both artists remind us that surfaces hold weight — and beauty often conceals a more complicated truth.
