fireWORKS to Ignite Historic Downtown Buildings in Calgary with Multimedia Artwork

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Calgary, Alberta — April 2, 2025

cSPACE Projects, in partnership with ARTICLE 11, is proud to present fireWORKS, a stunning multimedia installation that will transform the Historic Fire Hall #1 and the North West Travellers Building into a vibrant public artwork from April 5 until July 2025.

fireWORKS, created by Indigenous arts duo ARTICLE 11 (Tara Beagan and Andy Moro), celebrates the extremes of Mohkinstsis/Calgary’s seasons by bringing the thrumming heat of summer into the hopeful chill of spring. The installation immerses pedestrians and drive-by audiences in scenes of Calgary’s iconic midway crowds running in parallel with thunderous stampeding buffalo. fireWORKS transforms the vacant heritage buildings into glowing canvases that awaken the downtown streets with creative energy.

We invite all Calgarians & visitors to celebrate the launch of this electrifying celebration of art, history, and community.
