SUMMARY:WORKSHOP: Free Indigenous Art Workshop: Medicine Wheel & Cosmos Painting
DESCRIPTION:WORKSHOP: Free Indigenous Art Workshop: Medicine Wheel & Cosmos Painting\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nLevel 4 – RGO Treehouse (North)\nFebruary 21\, 2026\n1:00 PM – 4:30 PM \n  \nStudio C presents Sacred Geometry & Cosmic Order\, a free art workshop grounded in Blackfoot teachings and creative practice. This enriching cultural afternoon celebrates Blackfoot knowledge\, art\, and storytelling. Space is limited\, and registration is required. \nGuided by Elder Joyce Healy of the Kainai First Nation\, participants will be introduced to the teachings of the Medicine Wheel and will create a personal wheel to take home. \nFollowing this\, participants will explore Blackfoot cosmology and creation stories through a hands-on painting session led by interdisciplinary artist Chataya Holy Singer. Attendees will learn the meanings behind traditional Blackfoot designs and symbols while creating a night-sky painting inspired by these teachings. \nThis meaningful and creative experience offers a unique opportunity to learn\, reflect\, and connect with Indigenous culture\, while leaving with two original artworks that honor Blackfoot heritage. \nAbout Bridging Cultures: This event is part of Bridging Cultures\, an initiative dedicated to celebrating Indigenous heritage and fostering connection through community programs. Through exhibitions\, workshops\, demonstrations\, and storytelling\, Bridging Cultures creates welcoming spaces for learning that uplift Indigenous traditions\, artistry\, and voices. \nAll events are free and open to the public to ensure accessible opportunities for everyone to engage with Indigenous culture. This project is made possible with support from the Government of Alberta’s Ethnocultural Grant. \nWhat’s Included: Medicine Wheel workshop with Elder Joyce Healy\, Blackfoot cosmos painting session with Chataya Holy Singer\, All materials provided \nRecommended: Dress for creativity. Paint can be unpredictable\, so wear clothing you do not mind getting colorful.
