Guided by renowned fibre artist Lyn Pflueger\, feel the soft wool transform under your fingertips using the meditative art of wet felting. Then\, dive into the world of Shibori\, the centuries-old Japanese resist-dyeing techniques that produce mesmerizing patterns in rich\, soulful indigo. \nThis beginner-friendly class is perfect for anyone curious about the world of fibrecraft. Unplug for an afternoon and rediscover the joy of making something with your hands. All materials are provided—just bring your imagination\, and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece of functional art! \nA bit about your Instructor: \nLyn Pflueger was born and raised in Sydney\, Australia\, and now lives in Bragg Creek. She graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design with a BFA and taught as a sessional instructor in their fibre department. Lyn is part of the Sheep Creek Weavers and continues to teach textile techniques. Her personal interests include felt making\, the structure of surfaces\, the properties of textile materials\, shibori dyeing and texture technqiues.

Let’s stir up some new inspirational energy and trade with each other! We will have tables set up inside and outside our studio for you to lay down your fabric\, and peruse what each other has contributed. \nThe rules for Fabric Swap are: \n\nClean\, useable fabrics only\n1 meter or more – no less!*\nBe thoughtful about the items you take\, and what you will make. DESCRIPTION:Come learn how to create a proper pattern that will fit you perfectly!\nLike making your own clothes but have a hard time finding patterns with that perfect fit? Come learn the foundational concepts of pattern making through flat pattern drafting\, 3D form alteration\, and tailoring. Learn how to take proper measurements\, adjust patterns\, cut\, and sew a muslin to create a proper pattern. This class teaches you the foundational rules and language to begin creating your own custom patterns\, and the skills to adjust and fit patterns to fit you! \nThis course is five 3-hour sessions.
