It’s a celebration of women who are part of a growing movement to challenge the false narrative that beauty fades with age. \nThe Fabulous Over 40 Art Exhibit shines a spotlight on the portraits and stories of women aged 40 and up. \nInstead of being shamed into the shadows\, each of these women chose to step into the light. \nThey said yes to a transformative boudoir portrait experience. They said yes to being seen. Boldly\, vulnerably\, and without apology. \nThe goal? To rewrite the story: Women over 40 are beautiful. The ticking clock is a myth. And the years ahead are something to look forward to. \nAs an artist and photographer\, my mission is to challenge outdated beauty standards and offer a new perspective. One that I see for myself every day as a boudoir photographer for women over 40. We’ve been sold a lie. There is no expiration date on beauty. Let me prove it to you! \nThis exhibit is proof that beauty exists in every chapter of life\, and that it’s never too late to feel truly seen. \nAbout the Artist \nWebsite: www.lauriemacbrownphotography.com \nYou may know me as your photographer\, but what you might not know is why I do this. \nI started photographing women to figure out the secret to looking good in photos\, because I never liked photos of myself\, and I thought there was something wrong with me. What I’ve learned is this: being photogenic is not about how you look on the outside. It’s about feeling beautiful and having someone capture that so you can see it too. \nToday\, I’m an accredited\, multi award-winning portrait photographer\, and my mission is to show women\, especially those over 40\, that every body is beautiful and worthy of being photographed\, even without clothes on. \nI invite you to see yourself\, and women like you\, in a whole new light.

ACGC invites you to explore these questions at the 2025 Annual Conference\, titled: The Future We Want: Alberta’s Role in International Cooperation in a Rapidly Changing World. This is a space for Alberta’s international cooperation sector to gather together\, engage in meaningful dialogue regarding Alberta’s future\, and hear from experts in the field. \nThis is a hybrid conference taking place in Calgary\, Alberta on September 12th\, 2025. Attendees will be able to join virtually on Zoom or in person. These luminous surfaces veil the wildfires and environmental upheaval beneath\, asking viewers to look closer at the stories we sugarcoat. \nBartlette’s mixed-media paintings reassemble memory through texture\, collage\, and embellishment. DESCRIPTION:Exposure Photography Festival x The Camera Store\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nAll Levels\nFebruary 4 – February 28\n8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Closed Sundays) \nReception: February 12 @ 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM | As part of cSPACE Marda Loop’s February Showcase Series \n\nThe Exposure Photography Festival is a month-long celebration of photography across Alberta.\nAs part of The Exposure Festival’s Partner Exhibitions\, The Camera Store will transform cSPACE’s four levels of Hallway Galleries with four compelling exhibitions\, offering a dynamic and meaningful celebration of photography’s lasting influence. \n\nLEVEL 1: My life through the lens – Julian Ferreira Exhibition\nJulian Ferreira\, known in the photographic community for being a passionate advocate of the philosophy “always have a camera with you.” Guided by this belief\, he continually observes and photographs the world around him\, creating images as he moves through his Southern Alberta prairie home. From quiet\, expansive landscapes to subtle moments of light and form\, his work is shaped by an ongoing dialogue between place\, presence\, and perception.  \nWorking primarily as a fine art black-and-white photographer and co-owner of The Camera Store\, Ferreira’s exhibition presents a selection of his most recent work. These photographs offer viewers an intimate glimpse into the way he sees\, thoughtful\, deliberate\, and deeply connected to the land he calls home\, inviting them to slow down and engage with the subtle beauty found in everyday surroundings. \n\nLEVEL 2: Brian Henson Memorial Exhibition\nBrian Henson was a highly regarded fine art photographer based in Calgary\, known for his dedication to traditional photographic processes and his striking hand-printed black-and-white work. He was also a longtime friend of The Camera Store and a valued presence within Calgary’s photographic community. Brian passed away in 2022\, leaving behind a meaningful and enduring legacy of meticulously crafted\, hand-printed and framed photographs that reflect both his artistic vision and his commitment to the medium.  \nIn accordance with the wishes of his estate\, Brian’s work will be offered for sale\, with all proceeds donated to the RESET Society of Calgary. RESET provides a comprehensive and compassionate system of support services in Alberta\, specifically designed to assist women who are survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Through this initiative\, Brian’s art continues to make a lasting impact\, honouring his legacy while supporting an organization dedicated to healing\, empowerment\, and positive change. \n\nLEVEL 3: Then & Now 30 Years of Calgary Photography\nIn celebration of 30 years within Calgary’s photography community\, The Camera Store is proud to present a special group exhibition. This milestone exhibition highlights the talent\, perspectives\, and creative evolution of Calgary’s photographic scene\, seen through the lenses of a selection of photographers who have helped shape and support it over the past three decades including\, George Webber\, Greg Fulmes\, Greg Gerla\, Jason Stang\, Jeff Bright\, John Dean\, Leah Hennel\, Maja Swannie Jacob\, Mark Vitaris\, Matt and Harry Palmer\, Mike Drew\, Steve Speer\, and\, Todd Korol.  \nThe images are presented side by side\, creating a visual narrative of time\, change\, and creative growth. DESCRIPTION:Hallway Gallery: Sculptures by Vahe Tokmajyan\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nLevel 1 Gallery\nMarch 2 – 9\, 2026\n8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Closed Sundays) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVahe Tokmajyan is an internationally known sculptor who calls Calgary home. \nHe has over 30 years of experience in professional sculpture with an extensive portfolio of outdoor sculptures installed in many countries of the world.  His studio size artworks are shown in museums\, galleries and private collections. Vahe has incorporated his experience as a practicing artist into his teaching approach. With an MFA specializing in Drawing and Sculpture\, Vahe has a broad experience in adult teaching with the focus on hands on practice.

This exhibition celebrates the power of puppetry and video art together; art forms that not only bridge sculpture\, theatre\, and storytelling\, but are also imbued with spells and intention. \nThe artworks featured in this exhibition blur the boundaries between stillness and motion\, material and spirit. They conjure movement within stillness\, give breath to the lifeless\, and awaken the mythical beings within these objects. Each artwork pulses with the intent of its maker\, reflected in the characters\, scenery and videos featured throughout the exhibition. For each of these artists\, the process is just as important as the final creation. Hidden sigils of empowerment\, appreciation for the small things that surround them\, and a reconnection with inner playfulness and whimsy\, all inform what moves these artists to create. \n“Enchanted Matter: Puppetry\, animation and magic” welcomes you to explore the work of Abbey Leach\, Kathy Austin and Stephanie Quilliams\, and to witness the magic that fills the gallery.

DESCRIPTION:Hallway Gallery: The Long Way Home by Jennifer Gregoire\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nLevel 1 Gallery\nMarch 30 – April 13\, 2026\n8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Closed Sundays) \n  \nThe Long Way Home is a collection of some of her favorite stops along those journeys. Each photograph reflects a moment where she chose to slow down and stay awhile. The images carry a sense of history\, nostalgia\, and connection to the land. \nThis work speaks to the importance of the journey as much as the destination. It invites viewers to take their time\, notice what is often overlooked\, and find meaning in quiet\, everyday places. \n  \nAbout the Artist: \n  \nJennifer Gregoire was born and raised in Calgary\, but it wasn’t until she moved to a small rural town that her perspective began to shift. Life slowed down\, the sky felt bigger\, and she found herself drawn to the quiet places in between. \nHer work is rooted in time spent on the road. She explores backroads across Alberta\, stopping whenever something catches her eye. An old truck\, a weathered building\, or a stretch of highway that feels unchanged. What began as a way to explore gradually became a way of seeing and understanding the landscape around her. \nShe often jokes that she is a professional road-tripper\, but in many ways it’s true.
