Each piece represents a personal journey and is a powerful reflection of change\, growth\, and opportunity. \nThis free\, public exhibition is open to all\, and many of the pieces are available for purchase. DESCRIPTION:Building Blocks by Sean Drysdale\ncSPACE Marda Loop\nGallery Level 3\nOctober 7 – November 1\, 2025\n8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Closed Sundays) \n\n\n\nSean Drysdale returns to cSPACE with version 3 of Building Blocks\, an exhibition of large images. \n\nArtist’s Talk:  \nThursday\, October 16 | 5:30pm-7:45pm \nIn Attendance:  \n\nWednesday\, October 8 | 6-8pm\nSaturday October 25 | 1-3pm\nSaturday November 1 | 1-3pm\nOr by arrangement\n\nClosing Reception: \nThursday\, October 30 | 5:00-7:30pm \nAbout the Artist: \nSean Drysdale graduated from Emily Carr College of Art and Design in 1984\, where he studied photography. Subsequent studies in mathematics and computers at Simon Fraser University led to a career in information management. \nHe returned to photography as an art form in 2016. By 2023\, he concluded that the world did not need another photographer. The label had always felt like a shirt occasionally worn but never entirely comfortable. Instead\, he began calling himself a wanderer—a description that felt far more fitting. To Drysdale\, this is a liberating and playful identity\, one that frees them from unhelpful personal expectations and existential questions such as what defines a “real” photographer.

DESCRIPTION:Instrumental Society presents: Dia De Los Muertos\nOctober 31\, Doors @7:30pm\ncSPACE Studio Theatre\nTICKETS HERE: www.showpass.com/diadelosmuertos\nThe Instrumental Society 2025/26 season opens with Mexicana Ensemble led by celebrated singer Gisela Romero. A deeply personal and vibrant musical journey into the singer herself\, this project pays homage to her roots by fusing the traditions of Mexican and Latin American folk music with contemporary jazz\, flamenco\, salsa\, and huapango elements.  \nGisela’s performances\, predominantly in Spanish\, are imbued with romanticism and the rich\, vibrant flavours of Latin culture. Accompanied by a group of versatile and fine musicians in the scene — Esteban Herrera on piano\, Luis Tovar on percussion\, Daniel Nava on bass\, Jorge Villena on acoustic guitar\, and David Lavoie on trumpet—this project transforms traditional sounds into fresh\, expressive arrangements.  \nGisela Romero is a celebrated singer known for her captivating performances that blend Mexican traditional music\, Latin American rhythms\, and Latin jazz. Born in León\, Guanajuato\, Mexico\, Gisela moved to Calgary\, Alberta\, Canada in 2008\, where she has since established herself as a prominent figure in the music scene. With four albums to her name\, Gisela’s evocative voice and passionate performances have earned her critical acclaim and several prestigious nominations. She was nominated for the YYC Music Awards in 2019\, 2021\, and 2023. Additionally\, in 2023\, she received a nomination for the BreakOut West Awards in the Global Artist of the Year category. Gisela’s performances\, predominantly in Spanish\, are imbued with romanticism and the rich\, vibrant flavors of Latin culture. She has delighted audiences both in Canada and Mexico\, bringing her unique sound to a diverse array of listeners. \nSpecial thanks to our partners Aroma Café & Bar and the Casa México Foundation for their generous support of this event.
