Upholding the motto “Sans jury ni récompense” (“No jury\, no awards”)\, the original exhibition was a bold statement against institutionalized art and authoritative selection processes. It sought to create an open platform where all artists could present their work without restriction. In the same spirit\, our Indépendants exhibition today embraces that tradition. Regardless of genre\, style\, or level of experience\, this space has been curated to allow artists to express their voices freely. SUMMARY:Finding Peace and Joy Within
DESCRIPTION:Finding Peace & Joy Within\nThis weekly meditation group for CALL members has returned by popular request. Each session includes periods of meditation (sitting comfortably in chairs) to allow participants the opportunity to experience the benefits for themselves\, and the opportunity to share experiences and insights with others. About half of the session will be talk/discussion and about half will be meditation. \nIf you are not a CALL member\, you can join for the annual fee of $50 and attend this and many other interest groups.

SUMMARY:Teen ReFashion Summer Camp with Riyoko Work/Shop
DESCRIPTION:Come explore how to deconstruct and reconstruct clothing into one-of-a-kind pieces of your own!\nIn this class\, students will learn techniques on how to take apart\, and put back together clothing* to create new fashion pieces of their own. From appliqué and patches to making a vest from a jacket\, the possibilities are whatever one can imagine (within the functionality of construction;))! And with the right instruction\, it can be fun and sew much fun to dive into! \n*A few weeks prior to camp\, students will be emailed a general list of clothing and materials to bring (ie. t-shirts\, shirts\, sweaters\, jeans\, jackets etc.)along with a few inspirational videos will be sent along to get the ideas going and help them with what to bring to class. \nThis camp runs Monday to Thursday.
