Upholding the motto “Sans jury ni récompense” (“No jury\, no awards”)\, the original exhibition was a bold statement against institutionalized art and authoritative selection processes. It sought to create an open platform where all artists could present their work without restriction. In the same spirit\, our Indépendants exhibition today embraces that tradition. Regardless of genre\, style\, or level of experience\, this space has been curated to allow artists to express their voices freely. SUMMARY:Teen ReFashion Summer Camp with Riyoko Work/Shop
DESCRIPTION:Come explore how to deconstruct and reconstruct clothing into one-of-a-kind pieces of your own!\nIn this class\, students will learn techniques on how to take apart\, and put back together clothing* to create new fashion pieces of their own. From appliqué and patches to making a vest from a jacket\, the possibilities are whatever one can imagine (within the functionality of construction;))! And with the right instruction\, it can be fun and sew much fun to dive into! \n*A few weeks prior to camp\, students will be emailed a general list of clothing and materials to bring (ie. t-shirts\, shirts\, sweaters\, jeans\, jackets etc.)along with a few inspirational videos will be sent along to get the ideas going and help them with what to bring to class. \nThis camp runs Monday to Thursday.
