DESCRIPTION:Reactive Patterning Irregular Composition\nby Sky Weir\nCubby Gallery (Level 2) at cSPACE Marda Loop \nAbout Sky Weir \n\n\nCanadian artist\, director\, publisher\, and designer. \n\n\nSky Weir grew up in a family of artists – Mom was a sculptor\, Dad a painter – with formal education at Ontario College of Art\, University of Guelph and residency at the Banff Centre. Sky’s career has been long and varied in both art and design – from graphic design to lots of story telling as the Creative Director in the planning through installation of museums and visitor centres in Alberta\, B.C. and the Arctic. \nSky has operated a custom yardage screen printing studio\, instructed in the Textile Department at ACAD and is now Instructing with AUArts Continuing Education Department.* \n*AU/Arts bio: https://www.auarts.ca/sky-weir

SUMMARY:Rode Hard: Hell Bent for Leather
DESCRIPTION:THEATRE ENCOUNTER presents A NEW PLAY BY AMOS ALTMAN\nIn this uniquely Albertan farce\, inspired by “bedroom farces” such as One Man\, Two Guvnors and Three’s Company\, an enigmatic drifter by the name of Oakley arrives at the rural home of Dick Bigman\, with the goal to swindle the lavish ranch for as much as they can get. Innuendo pushes into raunchiness when Oakley finds themself the romantic object of the rancher’s wife\, servants\, and maybe even the lovely farmer’s daughter. \nIn this new performance experiment\, the Encounter company explores the intersection of Farce and Expressionism\, to see how their distinctive approach to physical performance can inform a comedic work. DESCRIPTION:Come learn how to create a proper pattern that will fit you perfectly!\nLike making your own clothes but have a hard time finding patterns with that perfect fit? Come learn the foundational concepts of pattern making through flat pattern drafting\, 3D form alteration\, and tailoring. Learn how to take proper measurements\, adjust patterns\, cut\, and sew a muslin to create a proper pattern. This class teaches you the foundational rules and language to begin creating your own custom patterns\, and the skills to adjust and fit patterns to fit you! \nThis course is five 3-hour sessions.
