SUMMARY:Patternmaking 101
DESCRIPTION:Like making your own clothes but have a hard time finding patterns with that perfect fit? Come learn the foundational concepts of pattern making through flat pattern drafting & 3D form alteration\, and tailoring. Learn how to take proper measurements\, adjust patterns\, cut\, and sew a muslin to create a custom pattern. \nThis course is five 3-hour sessions. The use of technology such as LEDs\, Arduino micro-controllers\, texting\, and screens within her research is symbolic of the virtual realms in which we participate as a society. Her recent series “IU” combines textile craft and technology to explore contemporary courtship\, technology\, and historical signs and signifiers connected to dating and romance. Housego’s artwork often offers an invitation for interactivity\, encouraging viewers to shift from passive observers to active co-producers as they engage with the digital media\, experiencing other points of view\, and ultimately forming their own individual meanings. \nFollow Kenzie on Instagram @kenziehousego or check out her website www.kenziehousego.com.
